All about VyprVPN – Review 2022

VyprVPN is a well-known VPN service situated in Switzerland that is owned by the same business group as Giganews, a major Usenet news source. VyprVPN offers 14 sites throughout Asia, 5 in the Middle East, 7 in Central and South America, 2 in Africa, and 5 in Oceania, so it’s not only focused on Europe and North America.

It’s even better that these servers are owned and managed by the firm itself. As a result, unlike the majority of the competitors, there is no dependency on third-party web hosting.

To get started, there’s a no-knowledge DNS service, a proprietary Chameleon protocol to get around VPN banning, WireGuard support to boost speed, network-wide P2P support, and 24/7/365 customer assistance to make sure everything runs properly.

VyprVPN pricing:

  • VyprVPN’s pricing structure has undergone a major overhaul since our previous assessment, with a few noticeable changes.
  • To begin with, all plans have been simplified, with monthly and yearly subscriptions replacing the prior jumble of programs.
  • The second reason is that it’s a lot more costly. Forget the $12.95 price for two months; the monthly subscription now costs $15, making it one of the most costly offerings on the market.
  • For an additional $100 upfront, the yearly plan is a little more affordable, but it still costs $8.33 each month. There is a big difference in price between this option and the one we discovered last time.

Most VPN services charge between $4 and $5 per month for yearly subscriptions, with the exception of a couple that is in the same price range (ExpressVPN is $8.32 per month and Hotspot Shield is $7.99). Long-term memberships might help you save even more money. It costs $2.03 per month for the first three years of Private Internet Access’s three-year plan and $1.19 per month for Ivacy’s five-year plan, for example (VyprVPN is seven times more expensive than this).

A card or PayPal account is the only way to pay. A 30-day money-back guarantee protects you if you join up and aren’t satisfied. 30-days should be enough time for you to find any issues with the service, while some firms (like Hotspot Shield and CyberGhost) provide you additional time.

Privacy:

VyprVPN safeguards your privacy with a selection of well-vetted protocols and military-grade ciphers.

  • OpenVPN by default uses AES-256-GCM and SHA384 HMAC, with Perfect Forward Secrecy provided by TLS-ECDHE-RSA-2048.
  • By using this strategy, an attacker would only have access to data associated with the current session, even if they were to get access to a private key in some other manner.
  • WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IKEv2 are now access on all systems. There has been an improvement in VyprVPN’s proprietary Chameleon 2.0 technology, which is now even more effective at evading aggressive VPN filtering. We haven’t tested this in China, so we can’t say for sure whether it works there or not.

If you’re concerned about “man in the middle” assaults and other eavesdropping tactics, VyprVPN offers an encrypted zero-knowledge DNS service. It works for us, but if you’re not a fan, the applications let you use any other service instead (just enter whatever IP addresses you need).

If the VPN connection ends, individual programs have their own privacy-protecting mechanisms, such as choices to guard against DNS leaks and built-in kill switches. Further discussion on these topics is plan

Logging:

It may take a long time to go through the terms of service, privacy policies, and support materials of a VPN company before deciding how much you can believe what it says about its logging practises.

  • When it comes to privacy, VyprVPN has a clear and concise privacy policy which explains that there is no monitoring of source or destination IP addresses, connection start or stop timings and user traffic or DNS queries.
  • Furthermore, you don’t have to take VyprVPN’s word for this since Leviathan Security Group audited the platform and produced a public report on the company’s logging policies in September 2018 (opens in new window).

Setup:

  • Signing up for VyprVPN is simple, and the website directs you to an Apps page with a slew of handy links after you’ve done so.
  • To get begin, you may get the VyprVPN client for your OS of choice (Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS), as well as the raw Android APK file and the Chrome extension.

The software’s setup is straightforward and similar to any other VPN app you’ve ever used. Once you’ve downloaded the app and followed the on-screen instructions, all that’s left is for you to input your login and password.

You don’t have to use the applications to get around this restriction.. In addition to guides for Chromebooks, Linux, Synology NAS, OpenELEC, Android TV, Apple TV and routers, VyprVPN’s website provides lessons on how to manually set up the service on these devices.

Wrapping up

Thanks to VyprVPN’s compatibility for more than just OpenVPN, we were able to increase our download speeds to 340-360Mbps in the UK and 270-420Mbps in the US while using WireGuard. Compared to the average VPN speed of 400-600Mbps, Hide.me and TorGuard were able to attain speeds of 900Mbps and higher, although this should be enough in most cases.

The bottom line is that I think VyprVPN is an excellent choice for the ordinary user, as you can see from my VyprVPN review 2022.

Despite the fact that it’s not my favorite program, I still think it’s worth the price of admission.

You don’t need to be a computer wizard to utilize this program. The PC version of the software is excellent, although the mobile version is a little lacking.
